In the final seconds of Thursday afternoon, The Orange Lions vs. Collinwood contest received the highest percentage of votes to be selected as The Cleveland Browns Game of the Week. What was at stake? The winning team receives $1500 and the MVP and head coach get to be honored at The Cleveland Browns game vs. The Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday September 10th.
As if that was not motivation enough, The Orange Lions surged passed Collinwood with a shutout victory of 44-0. Senior RB Jake Sonkin ran for 157 yards and totaled 4 touchdowns. The defense pitched a shut out as Senior DE Jordan Hill led the way with 3 sacks, while Sophomore CB Diante White totaled 8 tackles with a forced fumble and recovery.
The Orange Lions are playing at a very high level right now. Next week, they go on the road to Green High School (1-1) for their first true test of the season. Please come out and support your Orange Lions next Friday night at 7pm!
