The Orange Lions came into Friday night looking to make it 2 in a row against Chagrin Falls, but struggled to find any cohesiveness. Chagrin Falls came into the game 0-4, but had been tested by great opponents in those losses. Their ability to make plays Friday night proved to be the right combination as their defense stymied The Orange Lions.
Early in the game, on Chagrin's first offensive series, they scored on a 77 yard run that would put the Tigers up 6-0. The Orange offense struggled to get anything going early on and punted often. Chagrin would capitalize once again early, when they would score another touchdown from 5 yards out; putting them up 13-0. This would be all The Tigers offense would score; however, as The Orange Lion Defense played tough and hungry for the remainder for the game.
With the score 13-0 at halftime, The Lions needed to come out strong and set the offense up with a great kick off return. When The Lions failed to convert third downs, they again punted to The Tigers. The Lions responded; however, as they forced a 3 and out with Chagrin backed up in their own territory. This allowed The Lions to drive down the field and get a touchdown by Senior QB Palmer Hanley. On the ensuing drive, The Orange defense again stymied Chagrin Falls, forcing a punt. The Lions drove down the field, but on a critical 4th down, Palmer Hanley threw an interception that Chagrin Falls would return for a 70 yard touchdown making what would be the final the score, 19-7.
