The Orange Lions Continue to Erase Bad History; This time at West Geauga

The Orange Lions continue to erase years of bad history in the football program. For the first time since 1974, 1975, and 1976, The Orange Lions have successfully earned a winning record in 3 consecutive season. With that, The Lions beat West Geauga for the first time on the road since 1988 making them 6-1 on the season. However, while The Lions are happy with what they have accomplished thus far, they are not satisfied and are hungry for much more.
Friday night was a special night, but it did not start out so great. On the opening drive, Junior QB Sean Borgman threw an interception to West G after driving down the field. On the ensuing play, West G found their tight end down the seam for a 66 yard touchdown. But The Orange Lions did not panic, instead, they buckled down and went to work.
Borgman would score on the ground from 2 yards out to tie the score at 7-7 going into halftime. As the second half would start, The Orange Lion defense continued to settle in, shutting down the Wolverine offense. Borgman would connect twice in the second half to Sophomore WR Marvin Davies (24 yards and 69 yards). The second one came with 2:35 left in the game and put The Lions ahead 27-20. West Geauga's offense only scored once in the second half and were ultimately stymied on 4th down with 30 seconds left in the game. While making history, The Orange Lions improved to 6-1 and 4-0 in the CVC.
The Orange Lions (6-1, 4-0) will host the Perry Pirates (7-0, 4-0) this Friday night in a showdown. The winner of this game will put themselves in the driver seat for the CVC championship with only 2 weeks left after this Friday. Come out this Friday night for Cancer Awareness night and support your Orange Lions as they continue to make history. This Friday night has now become the biggest game of the season. Lets go Lions!
